Scottish Business Knowledge

Scots are renowned around the world for their drive and entrepreneurial spirit. In fact, one could say they are strongly overrepresented in the business community compared to their relatively small numbers in the population.

From heads of banks, to small business owners in the North like ChristmasOrnamentShop.org, the business spirit is alive with creativity. In Glasgow, there's an annual festival for personalized Christmas ornaments and the small business owners who make them. Multiple contests are held that the Christmas trees are decorated with, demonstrating every niche in the business chain. It does not just stop in the business world, either.

The political system of the United Kingdom seems to attract Scottish politicians. In fact, during the government of the recent labor years, again the proportion of Scottish politicians was seemingly out of balance, especially when you consider the fact that Scotland has its own Parliament.

Why should this be so? That is actually an unanswerable question, or at least a question that no one has researched into yet! The facts are there for all to see though, and it is an intriguing subject.

All this leads, of course, to whether a Scotland with more or even total independence from the United Kingdom would be a viable prospect. Certainly, the so called 'intelligencia', business leaders and respected politicians are there, but the question remains if Scotland has a population large enough, and industries big enough to support itself as an independent nation state. There are many arguments for this on both sides, with each one having valid reasons. Certainly, if a decision to become independent is ever reached though, the futures of Scotland, England, Wales and Northern Ireland will always be intricately linked.
