Jock
Jock is a single man who lives on his own in a one-bedroom council flat. He moved from Edinburgh in 1992 with his family but separated from his wife two years later due to his dependence on alcohol and deterioration in his mental health.
At age 34 he was declared unfit for work and medically retired in 1982 after a serious head injury sustained at work. He became depressed and used alcohol in an attempt to cope with the realisation that he could not return to his usual employment. His mental health deteriorated over the following two years and he was admitted to hospital in 1984 suffering from a nervous breakdown. As well as suffering poor mental health Jock has angina, arthritis and emphysema.
Jock’s mental health social worker suggested redecorating his flat as a means to make him feel better about himself. ScotsCare provided a grant and now Jock is happier. We will continue to support Jock in the future.
